Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Michael Carrick, Luis Suárez and Robin van Persie have been nominated for the 2012-2013 Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year award in England.
Eden Hazard does it again in his first year in the toughest football league on the player: he is nominated two times for best Player of the Year 2012. First in the Best Player of the Year category and also the Young Player of the Year category.
Eden Hazard has made a good entry in his first season in Chelsea. In France, where he played before, he has won every possible trophy, ranging from player of the month, best young player, best foreign player, best player, vice-topscorer, and winning the title and cup in one year.In the young player category Eden Hazard has a good chance of winning the trophy. He is more talented than Lukaku and Benteke, and could compete with Gareth Bale for the first place.
The list of players nominated for Young Player are: Gareth Bale, Jack Wilshere, Eden Hazard, Danny Welbeck, Christian Benteke and Romelu Lukaku. With Benteke and Lukaku being Belgian players, we can conclude that 3 Belgian young players are nominated this year: amazing!
Being nominated in the best football league on the planer is a tremendous honor. The Premier League is obviously not the French league. In France there is no Nani, Van Persie, 0, Rooney or other world-class players. In England you get a spot on the bench if you don’t perform every week.
Hazard’s contribution to the Premier League has been significant already. Having already played in 49 of the Chelsea games this season, with only 13 coming as a substitute, Hazard has contributed 12 goals and 15 assists in all competitions together. Not bad for a first season in the English football!
Can Eden Hazard win the Young Player award?
In the Best Player category there are 2 players who are out of category: Van Persie and Luis Suárez. There is no doubt Suarez has been one of the most efficient players in the Premier League this year. However, his reputation has been damaged by the eight-match ban he received for racially abusing Patrice Evra last season, and recently a ten-match ban for the biting incident.

With his many marvellous goals at Arsenal, and at Championship winner Manchester United, Robin Van Persie is the obvious winner of this category. Any other choice would we wrong.
In the young player category Eden Hazard has a good chance of winning the trophy. He is more talented than Lukaku and Benteke, and could compete with Gareth Bale for the first place. Gareth is extremely talented, and is getting better every year, and he already won this trophy last year.
