Eden has eventually showed the Belgian audience why he is ranked number one on the Bleachreport.com most talented players up to 21 years.
Eden Hazard showed great passing and dribbling skills throughout the game, and played as a true number 10. Croatia needed their experience to keep the infiltrating Belgian  midfielders and attackers from scoring.

For sure, Eden will have a better night sleep than yesterday.  Millions of Belgian fans, the Belgian press, and even this website had great hopes that Eden could take the lead in this match versus the nr. 9 on the current FIFA World Rankings, the probably strongest competitor of the group, and help Belgium a step further to qualify for the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil.

More good news for Belgian and Chelsea fans: youngster Kevin De Bruyne (owned by Chelsea, playing for Werder Bremen) was brought into the game after the coffee break, and suddenly the Belgian game speeded up by more than 25 %.

During the game, Eden Hazard showed great passing and dribbling skills throughout the game, and played as a true number 10.

Kevin demonstrated why experienced ánd expensive midfielders like Witsel, Fellaini and Dembélé have to be afraid of loosing their spot in the Belgian national team. His performance was nothing less than impressive.  Kevin showed remarkable skills like great vista, being able to maintain technical skills during acceleration, and being one step ahead of defenders. A dream for every attacker waiting for an assist.

The last games made it clear that when Belgium needs to play offensive, players like Steven DefourKevin De Bruyne, Dries Mertens ánd Eden Hazard are the strongest offensive midfielders at this moment.

Unfortunately, the Croatian players had enough maturity and experience to keep Belgium on a tie: 1-1.  If Belgium can hold on to this level of game play, the second spot in the group should be a must. Next game in October: Serbia – Belgium.

This and the previous game made it clear that when Belgium needs to play offensive, players like Steven Defour, Kevin De Bruyne, Dries Mertens ánd Eden Hazard are the strongest offensive midfielders, combining vista, speed, technical skills, and efficiency.
