Eden Hazard close to signing a 5 year record contract at Chelsea worth 250.000 EUR a week

This new contract would make him the highest paid Chelsea player in Chelsea’s club history. He would earn more than Drogba and Torres ever received!
“It’s a question of time for his new contract” says his coach Mourinho. When Eden signed his first contract he and especially his agent were negotiating very aggressive for a high salary. Therefore the negotiations could take a while.

Mourinho: “It’s a question of time for his new contract

Eden is happy at Chelsea, he will probably win the 2014 Premiership title, has a good chance to win the Champions League and is playing with World Stars such as Drogba, Costa, Fabregas or Oscar…

Hazard has a current contract until 2017 but Chelsea wants to offer him a new five-year contract in order to demotivate any potential interest for the player that won the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season.

Previously, and recently PSG and Real Madrid have expressed their interest in the past, but Hazard’s new deal, which would approximately double his current pay package, would reflect the fact that he is now regarded as one of Chelsea’s most important players,  and one of the best players in the world.

Mourinho: “We have big hopes that he will go from the top player he is at this moment and will reach higher levels to become one of the best.”

His manager José Mourinho said: “He means a lot because he’s a fantastic player. We are feeling day by day his motivation to work hard and improve. We have big hopes that he will go from the top player he is at this moment and will reach higher levels to become one of the best.

“He is a player who we want to keep, in spite of the fact he has a long-term contract as young as he is. It’s true Chelsea are trying to have an agreement over a new contract, and that he wants to stay and commit for a few more years. It’s a question of time. One more month, one less month, and he’ll have a new contract.”
